COSTAS TELAKIS

Costas Telakis is a seasoned basketball coach, holds a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Sports Science from the University of Sunderland, England. His academic journey culminated with a diploma paper on "Psychological Loading of Basketball Athletes Before and During Training Sessions and Matches."

Costas boasts an impressive coaching pedigree with national and international recognition. He is the recipient of a National Coaching Diploma from the Hellenic Basketball Coaches Association and an International Coaching Diploma from FIBA.

His coaching career kicked off as an assistant coach at Tyfonas Irakliou and A.E. Pentelis, working under the tutelage of experienced mentors like Yiannis Ktistakis. In 2004, he took charge at Pallini BC, gradually ascending to the role of Head Coach for the men's team in 2011. Under his guidance, Pallini BC's men's team achieved a remarkable consecutive promotion, climbing from the 4th regional to the 2nd regional league in two consecutive years.

From 2015 to 2017, Costas contributed as an assistant coach at AC Doukas, coaching the U18 team alongside Takis Bakogeorgos and the U15 team with Evripides Meletiadis. His tenure resulted in notable victories, including the Regional U15 Championship in 2017 and a 3rd-place finish in the Greek National Championship.

Currently, Costas Telakis holds the dual role of Head Coach for both Pallini BC's men's team and U18 team. Additionally, he assumed the position of Head Coach for AC Doukas' U15 team in 2021, showcasing his versatility and commitment to player development.

Beyond club coaching, Kostas has left his mark on the national basketball stage. He contributed as motivational staff for the development departments of U15 national teams, guided by former international player Giorgos Kalaitzis. In the summer of 2018, he joined the training team for the National Girls U18 National Team of Greece.

Complementing his coaching prowess, Costas Telakis imparts his knowledge as a Physical Education teacher at the Athenian College, bringing a holistic approach to sports education.

His coaching journey is characterized by a dedication to player development, strategic acumen, psychological preparation, and motivational leadership. Costas Telakis stands as a beacon in the basketball community, shaping the future of the sport through his multifaceted contributions.
